People benefit.About this positionThe Pharma PHC organization plays a critical role in realizing Roche’s PHC ambitions. This organization’s purpose is to provide patients and health-care professionals with beyond-molecule PHC solutions that produce additional benefit at less cost to society.The Digital Health function within Pharma PHC plays a key role in this ambition - helping to create a vision for what role Roche should play in digital health and how digital health solutions can provide patients, caregivers, physicians and many within the healthcare ecosystem value of different kinds.Digital Health Business Leaders have primary responsibility for ensuring linkage between digital health product/service ideas and overarching PHC Strategy, as well as for assessing the desirability (product/market fit), feasibility (technical/clinical/regulatory fit) and viability (contribution to the business) of ideas - advancing early digital health concepts through a staged processes (e.g. prototyping, hypothesis testing, mvp definition, etc) using quantitative and qualitative success metrics so that data-based decisions can be made by teams and governance bodies. The Digital Health Business Leaders must build and maintain effective partnerships with internal stakeholders (e.g. lifecycle teams and leaders, disease area leads, digital health leaders in affiliates) and external stakeholders (digital health partners) - and work closely with other PHC teams (PHC Strategy, Integrated Solutions, Ecosystems) to ensure the creation and iteration of a seamless system approach that nurtures early ideas and possible partnerships through to a handoff to the Integrated Solutions function & then through later stage phases of the solution lifecycle.Core ResponsibilitiesLeading early stage digital health initiatives in such a way toOrchestrates the building of the MVP from an idea or unmet need upto proof-of-concept using human centered design & all forms of prototyping to develop a robust MVP strategy and roadmapCoordinate and guide the concept team through dedication & ambition towards realization of key deliverables.A clear link is made to Roche Pharma ambitions, disease area strategies and PHC strategies - as well as to the desirability, feasibility, and viability (stage-appropriately) for the patients and others in the care ecosystemApplying "player coach" mindset and hands-on involvement in projects - ensuring co-creation and collaboration with many stakeholders within, and outside, of Roche ensuringWe assemble, motivate & lead a cross-functional team consisting of product designer, business and scientific representation.We balance an innovative mindset with expectation of impact to both the patient and health system as well as sustainably to Roche's business strategyTeams consider and try new things - yet the digital solutions business leader brings clear competency, knowledge, experience and direction such that we do not enthusiastically pursue low probability or low impact directionsIdentifying and obtaining the different types of information & data, both clinical-grade and otherwise, which can contribute to influencing and changing care decisions and care outcomes (e.g. information valuable for behavior modification).Understand, and able to create user-centered research approaches, for specific factors which motivating patients, their caregivers and their professional care team - including approaches which may work both within clinical trials/studies, and outside of trials/studiesKnowledge of using prototypes and user experimentation to better understand user behaviors and prioritize behavioral-driven features for conceptLeading efforts to understand user needs and assess desirability (match between the user needs and the potential digital features and solutions) and viability of the solution (contribution to the business / business case)Strong understanding of user centered design methodologies - how to create and identify what a "good experience" is comprised of and how to get thereAbility to co-develop research plans to understand the current landscapes and trends in digital care and incorporate them into product visions, strategies, and requirementsManages internal & external stakeholders in to design, test & validate concepts in order to develop effective product roadmapsMaintaining evergreen knowledge of the external digital health landscape - who is active, what they are doing and why - what has led certain companies to success in specific demographic groups, geographic settings - and the impact which different healthcare systems have upon digital health solution design (e.g. regulatory, privacy, security, compliance and cultural considerations relevant to digital health solutions and strategy)Understanding of common failure points with regards to the implementation and adoption of digital health solutions - and knowledge of lessons learned by others who have been active in the space (both within BioPharma and outside)Clearly identifying and articulating which patients, providers, payers and other stakeholders we are interested in reaching - with sufficient specificity and granularity (e.g. stratification) to help teams develop and refine strategies for digital health products and solutions.Understanding of user acquisition and adoption methodologies (e.g. channels, channel partners) and associated costs/capabilities neededAbility to support the analysis, research, and development of business cases - including financial, experiential, and operational benefits and development costs - justifying the vision and rooted in the feasibility.Understanding the requirements and needs of key stakeholders (e.g. regulators) to ensure commercial viability of conceptsConcept Portfolio Leadership: Provide leadership and implementation of digital health strategy through multiple, matrix concept teams for one or more lifecycle teams / disease areas.Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall disease area strategy through multiple innovative and strategic partnership opportunities.Strategic Innovation Management: Be accountable for the strategic analysis ofthe relevant market segment and the identification of unmet market and customer needs,the definition of specific growth opportunities, and the proposal of specific concept development opportunities including recommendations for make/partner/buy in close alignment with Partnering, Lifecycle teams & other relevant stakeholdersDigital Health Innovation ROI: Design KPIs to enable effective measurement ofstrategic initiatives and concept development projects for multiple lifecycle teams or disease areas.Ability to take courageous decisions to kill concepts early if not meeting established KPIsSkills, Mindsets and CapabilitiesBachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, computer science or engineering. Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA, PhD, PharmD, MD)Minimum 5-10 years experience in digital, diagnostics and/or pharma, preferably with experience in both BioPharma and others in the healthcare ecosystem (e.g. payers, providers, policy organizations, large and growth stage health tech companies, consultancies/agencies). Depending on the experience could be an opportunity to attract experience from different sectors3-5 years working on SaMD products preferred.Extensive project management skills in a difficult multidisciplinary context with demonstrated capability to balance multi-faceted plan according to risk aspects and to effectively manage conflictsDemonstrated capability in product management & agile solution development methodology with proven skill set in scrum and lean innovation.
